Marksman Lloyd

Perth hip-hop artist, Marksman Lloyd has been dubbed by Colosoul magazine as “the new poster boy for educated and progressive hip hop.”

Performing since the age of 15 at local hip hop workshops, he spent his formative years on the freestyle battle circuit winning Scribble Jam Western Australia in 2006. With a resume that now boasts shows in the U.S and Singapore, Marksman has shared the stage with international artists MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS, BROTHER ALI, ACTION BRONSON, P-MONEY and BLU & EXILE. Marksman has performed at festivals throughout Western Australia including the Perth International Arts Festival and Hyperfest alongside acts like SETH SENTRY and GREY GHOST.

Marksman Lloyd released his EP ‘Lions on the Beach’ to critical acclaim and national radio play on Triple J Australia. He has recently completed his first Australian tour that saw him headlining shows in all major cities.

Inspired by socially conscious artists like Atmosphere and Black Star, Marksman has crafted a style of music focused on changing the way we look at the world we live in. His unique approach to songwriting, willingness to push the boundaries of hip hop and infectious live show make Marksman Lloyd an act not to be missed.
A love of poetry has lead Marksman to perform at numerous spoken word events around the country as well. He was runner-up in the 2008 Australian poetry slam at the Sydney Opera house and has competed there on numerous occasions, using lyrics from his songs as spoken word pieces.

Marksman is currently working on his next EP ‘Rewrite the Ending’ due out late 2014.
